Invest Your Time

In addition to United Way of Allegheny County investing your dollars in our region’s future, we offer Volunteer opportunities to help you invest your time in high-impact, meaningful service experiences that transform Allegheny County, one step at a time.
Ongoing, Relational Volunteerism
Ongoing, relational volunteerism makes the greatest impact. Our keystone programs, Be 1 in a Million, Be a 6th Grade Mentor, Open Your Heart to a Senior, and Free Tax Prep give you the opportunity to change lives for the better through an ongoing or one-on-one commitment in each of the United Way Impact Areas.
One-Day Volunteering Opportunities
One-day opportunities, Days of Caring, let you get your feet wet and see face-to-face what the United Way is all about. Stay tuned during Summer 2013 for the 2013-2014 Days of Caring activities.
Supporting Agencies
We support agencies through volunteer recruitment, sharing best practices, offering capacity-building mini-grants, and assisting with volunteer appreciation. Check out the Youth Futures Commission to see how local leaders help to recruit volunteers and Fred Rogers Good Neighbor Day to learn about our largest volunteer appreciation event.
