Women’s Leadership Council (WLC) Mission: To improve lives in our community by mobilizing the caring power of women to advance the common good.
The Women’s Leadership Council is a powerful force in local philanthropy, engaged in issues important to women. WLC members constitute a growing network of women in leadership positions who use their energy, talent, and passion to avocate for social change. As a WLC member, you are an example and role model for other women by demonstrating the powerful impact women can make when they pool their individual talents and financial resources.
Members also enjoy the opportunity to:

- Network with area women business and community leaders
- Become educated on community issues, agencies and programs receiving United Way support
- Participate in Women’s Leadership Council events held throughout the year
GROWING STRONG.
In 2010 the WLC continued its growth, raising more than $3.2 million. And, marking it’s 10th anniversary, WLC membership has raised over $18.5 million for United Way of Allegheny County and grown from 500 to more than 1300 women. We have become one of the leading Councils among a 50,000-strong membership in 120 communities nationwide. WLC membership is offered to women who make an annual contribution of $1,000 or more to United Way. For more information or to join, please contact Lisa Kelly at 412-456-6767 or lkelly@uwac.org. We look forward to seeing you at the next WLC event!
